reach 69 for a low! |
I've lived in Columbia, SC for over five years now and have come to understand first-hand why the city tagline is "Famously Hot"! It is not just the heat (which is often in the upper 90s this time of year) but the humidity (usually hovering around 60-80%) is quite oppressive. Imagine my delight when I looked down at the thermostat in my rental car yesterday afternoon, during the warmest period of the day, and noted a temperature of 69 degrees! The forecast for the island today calls for a high of 67. Meanwhile, Columbia is set to reach 90, with humidity levels around 75%. Whew, what a welcome relief!
